Be Seen In Green This Mental Health Month!
Mental Health Action Day

Join the Mental Health Association of Westchester in Mental Health America’s “Be Seen in Green” challenge this May!

On May 16th, for Mental Health Action Day, we'll be wearing green to show support for advancing mental health and well-being through advocacy, education, and direct services. We invite you to wear green too and join us in fundraising for mental health in your community.

Why Green?

Green is more than just a color - it's the international symbol for mental health awareness. Representing fresh starts, optimism, and energy, wearing green (or even adding a touch of it to your space) makes a bright and bold statement: I care about mental health!

How do I fundraise?

Organizing your own online fundraiser is easy - in just a few minutes, create your personal fundraising page to share why supporting The Mental Health Association of Westchester is important to you this Mental Health Month.

Steps:

1. Select the online fundraising platform of your choice.

  • If you are fundraising on Instagram, navigate to The Mental Health Association of Westchester's page @mhawestchester, and click "Support" on the profile, then "Create fundraiser."
  • If you are fundraising on Facebook, navigate to your side menu on desktop view and click "Fundraisers". You may need to click "See more" to find the "Fundraisers" button.

2. Select your fundraising goal and timeline, along with The Mental Health Association of Westchester (MHA) as your chosen charity.

3. Share your story and why supporting MHA is important to you. If you need some inspiration, feel free to copy and paste the example description below:

This May, I'm taking part in Mental Health America's "Be Seen in Green" challenge, where I'll be wearing green and fundraising for The Mental Health Association of Westchester to promote mental health this Mental Health Awareness Month! 🎉

Green is more than just a color - it's the international symbol for mental health awareness. Representing fresh starts, optimism, and energy, wearing green (or even adding a touch of it to your space) makes a bright and bold statement: I care about mental health!

I invite everyone to join me in wearing green this Mental Health Action Day (May 16th) and supporting The Mental Health Association of Westchester, a local non-profit that serves more than 10,000 individuals each year on their paths to mental health and substance use recovery through advocacy, community education, and direct services.

The more we talk openly about mental health and support our community members, the more individuals we can empower to find hope. Thank you for your support!

4. Add your fundraiser cover photo for Mental Health Month. Check out our free cover photos below!

5. Launch your fundraiser and make an impact today.
