Our Training Institute
The goal of the Training Institute is to provide a series of training
opportunities to mental health professionals as well as to the community.
Is It For Me?
The focus is on presenting programs with practical applicability -
programs that really make a difference for mental health professionals and
others in the community interested in mental health. For information about

What We Deliver
MHA sponsors conferences addressing the professional development needs
of mental health professionals and other service providers as well as
offers a Pre-Doctoral Psychology Internship and an MSW Internship.
Throughout the year, the Training Institute presents a course in the Identification and Reporting of Abuse and
Maltreatment. This course is required by New York State for all
mandated reporters of abuse. We also offer training in School Violence Prevention and Intervention
required for New York State certification as a teacher, teacher assistant,
pupil personnel services professional and school administrator.

Pre-Doctoral Psychology Internship
Program
Students pursuing a doctoral
degree in psychology can access the Internship Training Handbook
in PDF
format with comprehensive information about the Pre-Doctoral
Psychology Internship Program. Questions regarding this program or other
graduate training opportunities can be directed to Ruth Nirenberg, PsyD at

In accordance with the MHA commitment to quality service provision and
continued professional development, the Training Institute now includes a
Pre-Doctoral Psychology Internship Program . Students pursuing a
doctoral degree in psychology can obtain comprehensive information about
this program by accessing the Internship Training Handbook in PDF format. Questions
regarding the internship program or other graduate training opportunities

Films may be borrowed for viewing. To obtain a full list of available
films please check our Film Library.
We have also expanded our selection of informational brochures and fact
sheets on a wide range of issues related to mental health. These can be
obtained through our Information and Referral Office at 914-345-5900,
extension 240 or via e-mail at help@mhawestchester.org.
Upcoming events are posted in the What's New section as well as on the
Events Calendar under "Training".
The calendar is updated on a continuing basis, so keep checking.
Where
Presentations are offered at our sites as well as at community venues,
and on-site at organizations and agencies requesting services.
When
Most programs are scheduled Monday through Friday between 9:00 AM and
5:00 PM. However, other times are arranged to meet community needs.
Languages Spoken
Services are available in English and Spanish.
Cost
Fee arrangements are determined upon scheduling presentations. We are
able to provide some community programs at no charge.
Staff/Service Providers
Master's level social workers and doctoral level psychologists
coordinate and deliver community presentations.
