Leadership

Advocacy at MHA is under the leadership of Michael B. Friedman, LMSW. In a career that spans four decades, Mr. Friedman has held many mental health leadership positions in the voluntary and the public sector including Regional Director, New York State Office of Mental Health; Executive Director MHA of Westchester; and Director of Operations Jewish Board of Family and Children's Services. He has also worked with numerous advocacy and advisory organizations at the local, state and federal levels.

Mr. Friedman speaks frequently at professional conferences and advocacy meetings and has published numerous articles on such topics as mental health policy and finance, managed care, child mental health, family support, psychiatric rehabilitation, family violence and stigma.
