An Afternoon with Andrew Solomon
Date to be announced.
From The National Book Award–winning author of The Noonday Demon: An Atlas of Depression comes a monumental new work, a decade in the writing, about family. In Far from the Tree, Andrew Solomon tells the stories of parents who not only learn to deal with their exceptional children but also find profound meaning in doing so. Solomon is a writer and lecturer on psychology, politics, and the arts; and an activist in LGBT rights, mental health, and the arts. He will be joining us to discuss his newest book and his startling proposition that diversity is what unites us all. To join the mailing list for this event, write email@example.com or call 914-265-7512.

Our 50 Shades of Kale Talk & Tasting was both fun and fascinating. BIG takeaway from Dr. Drew Ramsey, MD: A diet geared to stabilize mood and minimize cravings will be high in omega-3 fats from fatty fish, folates from leafy greens, vitamin B12 from eggs and meat, and the many brain-healthy nutrients amply found in colorful fruits and vegetables. Noting the positive and high energy of the presenters, many of us vowed to give it a try! The crowd favorite? Kale pesto. Thanks to Dr. Ramsey and Chef Jennifer Iserloh you can get the recipe right here.
