Assertive Community Treatment – Team Leader

Position Summary

The Team Leader provides both direct and indirect services.  Direct services include treatment, rehabilitative services, supervision of staff as well as the overall management of the program.  Indirect responsibilities include representing the program at meetings with other community agencies and other service providers.  The Team Leader is expected to know and follow the established policies and procedures of MHA of Westchester.

Hours of Work

35 hours per week

Specific Duties

1.      Responsible for program operations, budget implementation, compliance with external accountability sources, program monitoring, and continuous quality improve­ment.

2.      Participation in meetings with community agencies and other service providers.

3.      Management and assignment of program referrals and providing administrative and clinical supervision to program staff.

4.      Provision of community based clinical and rehabilitative services which may include, but are not limited to, assessment and treatment planning, individual, family and group psychotherapy, crisis counseling, case management, and community consultation and education.  Forty percent of time will be devoted to direct service and 60% toward administrative duties, this may change based on program needs.

5.      Facilitation of daily morning team meetings.

6.      Reviewing vacation request decisions and coverage issues.

7.      Monitoring the case list and generating reports (e.g., TPR due).

8.      Following the established clinic policies, agency policies and maintaining appropriate professional standards.

9.      Providing after-hours emergency coverage on a rotating basis with clinical staff via a paging system.

10.    Other related duties.

Qualifications

The Team Leader shall be an experienced mental health professional as defined by Part 585 of the OMH regulations and must have at least 2 years experience in supervisory level positions.  He/she must demonstrate positive leadership, effective communication skills, and the ability to work successfully with a wide range of people.  It is expected that he/she is able to perform his/her duties with mini­mal supervision and consistently use good judgment.  Basic computer skills in word process­ing, spreadsheets and data base management are desired.  Must be a NYS licensed social worker, psychologist, or registered nurse. Candidates must consent to Fingerprinting and a Criminal History Information Records search.

Reporting Relationship

The Team Leader reports directly to the Program Director.
