Volunteers are vital to The Mental Health Association of Westchester. Our two signature volunteer opportunities are Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and the Host Visitation Program, which provide support for children in foster care or at risk for foster care. To learn more about these two programs, please contact Jackie Boissonnault, Program Director, at 914-345-5900, ext. 7518 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA)
CASA volunteers advocate for children who are under the supervision of the Department of Social Services and Family Court. After completing a 30-hour training, volunteers help monitor the care of their assigned child and advocate for services.
Host Visitation Program
Volunteers in our Host Visitation Program assist families who have children placed in foster care by supervising and supporting them during family visits. For both the children and families, these visits are critical and help reduce the trauma children experience by being separated from their families. Volunteers must complete a 15-hour training program.
We also have a variety of volunteer opportunities that are available on an as-needed basis. Our goal is to utilize your talents, experience and interests in ways that support and expand the work of MHA. We know your time is valuable, and we thank you for pursuing a volunteer opportunity with us. To learn more about how you can get involved, please contact Connie Moustakas, Director of Development, at 914-265-7511 or email@example.com.
