Over $40,000 RAISED at MHA on the move: Run/Walk
A wise person told us: “Life moves at the speed of relationships.” At our eighth annual hugely successful event, relationships—over 300 of them-- were moving very fast indeed! “On this morning, our community stands together in support of MHA, in support of accessible mental health services and in solidarity with all those who care about serving and supporting the individuals and families that turn to us,” said Dr. Amy Kohn, MHA CEO, as participants gathered before the race. We were honored to have as our special guests Congresswoman Nita Lowey; Lou Young, CBS News Reporter; Gerri Willis, host of The Willis Report, Fox Business Network; and Sarah Hreyo, Miss Westchester. Mike Sabath had the whole crowd clapping during the premiere of his new song, Talk About It, written especially for MHA.
The crowd then moved to the event start under a canopy of balloons and the race began! A crack team of ham operators from WECA (Westchester Emergency Communications Association) were strung around the race path like pearls keeping everyone safe. Volunteers held out cups of water as the racers sped by. Just 17 minutes later, the first runner was back. That’s a 5.58 minute mile! At morning’s end, spirits were high, buoyed by the enthusiasm of the attendees and the feeling of a job well done.
Thank you to all of you for making MHA’s event such a huge success!!!
