Lyndhurst

Built in 1838, this mansion, a National Trust Historic Site, features a fine collection of decorative arts. Other features include the Rose Cottage, a children’s playhouse and a rose garden. Guided tours, educational programs and summer concerts on the lawn are offered.

Sunnyside

This restored 19th century estate was once the home of author Washington Irving, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” and “Rip Van Winkle”. Features include Irving’s library and many of his furnishings. Guided tours are offered and special events are held throughout the year.

Philipsburg Manor

This Dutch Colonial house, working gristmill and farm, restored to the period 1720-1750, belonged to the wealthy Philipse family. You can see what happened at an 18th century mill -- how the gristmills worked, how barrels were made, how grains were separated by “threshing”, and what life was like back then. Tours and special events are featured.

Van Cortlandt Manor

This was once the home of wealthy Pierre Van Cortlandt, a champion of the American Revolution and first lieutenant governor of the State of New York. This beautiful manor house contains authentic furnishings.
